God, I hate trying to figure out where things belong on this site. It's intimidating. I'm always scared I'm going to screw up and end up with my deviation getting removed due to a misfile. Ah, well.
I don't consider this to be an actual anthro because she's less bird, more human. Hopefully that's okay.
Beyond that... a prototype character design for a new character that I'm slowly developing. When I have a new one ready, I'll scrap this, because I think it's going to change significantly--wing size and hair in particular, because although I'm going for a realistic wing-style, I've decided that she (they--teh bird people I'm thinking up) won't be able to fly. Poor thing. Also, I want to change the hair style--there's another character with a similarish hairstyle, and because of the coloring... I don't want people to think I'm trying to copy, even though that character's part fox I think.
Looking back at it... her ear is way too close to her eye. XD And I think that the wings need to be a wee bit higher on her back. And they probably need to be redrawn to better reflect a non-predatory bird's wings, but... it's hard to find examples of Green Jays on the web, much less a good view of their wings spread out to show the wing span. If anyone out there has advice for me, feel free to share.
OH! And let me know if this is blindingly bright/too dark anything...? I have an lcd monitor, so I have no idea how my things look on other monitors. xD
Are they okay...? By which I mean, do you know how I would change them to be less the default/bird-of-prey model your friend was showing and something closer to Jay wings?
Wooow slight positioning issues you mentioned yourself aside this is so good its STUPID. I dont know if my favorite part are her arms or her pant wrinkles, but its all excellent.

I went back and redid the ear in the original sketch after I saw that. Funny, that it didn't really pop out to me until I shrunk the size of the picture down. The wings are kind of too big a fix for me to go back on at this point (because I'm lazy) but it's something at least I can note for future reference. I'm glad you like X3
She's really cute^^ I do agree that the wings seem a bit low on her back and they don't quite look attached because of the angle she's sitting at. I love the amount of detail in her clothes and hair, it's very nice.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
